Congratulations to all the nominees for our Green Footprint Awards for 2012. We are very pleased to announce the recipients of this year's awards for Artistic, Education, and Community Leadership.  We received many inspiring nominations and appreciate each one.   Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate an outstanding environmental leader in our community. And thanks to everyone out there doing such great work!

Green Footprint Award for Art Leadership - Holly Highfill

 

For innovative acrylic paintings in the four–season tree exhibit, floor map of the Chesapeake Bay, and native habitat murals in the Robinson Nature Center.

 

 

Green Footprint Award for Education Leadership (Schools) - Ann Strozyk

 

For developing exceptional programs integrating science, technology, engineering, and  math education with outdoor field experiences for Howard County students.

 

 

Green Footprint Award for Education Leadership (Community) - Georgia Eacker and the Master Gardeners

 

For establishing outstanding model field experiences introducing Howard County school students to the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.

 

 

Green Footprint Award for Community Leadership - Howard County Legacy Leadership Institute for the Environment (HoLLIE)

 

For advanced environmental training of volunteer leaders for environmental organizations throughout Howard County.
